Privacy Policy

Effective April 14, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how Sakha ("Sakha," "we," "us," "our") collects, uses, discloses, and retains personal information when you use sakha.app and related services.

1. Scope

This Policy applies to personal information collected through the Service, support channels, and related communications.

2. Information We Collect

  • Account information: name, email, login credentials, age-band eligibility signals.
  • Learning/activity data: course selections, study sessions, answers, progress, timestamps, and interaction events.
  • Device/usage data: IP address, browser type, device identifiers, operating system, pages viewed, and diagnostics and log data.
  • Support data: messages and materials you provide to support.
  • Payment data: purchase metadata from Stripe (for example, transaction status, amount, date). We do not store full card number or card security code.

3. How We Use Information

  • Provide and operate the Service.
  • Personalize study flow and adapt content.
  • Improve accuracy, quality, reliability, and safety.
  • Process purchases and prevent fraud.
  • Communicate about account, support, updates, and legal notices.
  • Comply with legal obligations and enforce Terms.

4. AI Features

Some content and feedback are AI-generated using third-party AI providers. We use Anthropic (Claude models) for real-time tutoring, explanations, and quiz content. We use OpenAI for content pipeline generation. We use ElevenLabs for text-to-speech audio generation. Your personal information is not intentionally included in requests sent to these providers.

Anthropic does not use API inputs or outputs to train its models by default under its API usage policy. Usage signals from your study sessions are used solely to improve the Sakha Service and are not shared with AI providers for training purposes.

5. How We Share Information

We may share personal information with:

  • Service providers (for example, hosting, authentication, payment processing, email delivery, and AI content generation).
  • Professional advisors and auditors.
  • Authorities and law enforcement when legally required.
  • Successors in a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets.

We do not sell personal information for money. As of this Effective Date, we do not share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.

6. Cookies and Similar Technologies

We use cookies and similar technologies for authentication, security, performance, and analytics. You can control cookies in your browser settings, but some Service features may not function properly if disabled.

7. Data Retention

We retain personal information only as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes in this Policy, including legal compliance, dispute resolution, security, and contract enforcement. We then delete or de-identify information as required or permitted by law.

Upon account deletion, we will delete your personal information within 30 days. Some data may be retained longer where required for legal, accounting, or security purposes. Aggregated or de-identified data that cannot reasonably identify you may be retained for longer periods to support service improvement.

Consent records. The record of your agreement to these terms — including the date and time of consent, the version of Terms and Privacy Policy agreed to, and the IP address and browser information at sign-up — is retained as required for legal compliance even after account deletion.

8. Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards to protect personal information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure. If you believe your account has been compromised, notify us immediately at support@sakha.study.

In the event of a data breach affecting your personal information, we will notify you as required by applicable law.

9. Children and Teen Users

The Service is intended for users 13 and older.

We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 without required parental consent. If discovered, we deactivate the account and delete data as required by law.

If you are 13–17, use of the Service must be with parent or guardian permission.

If a parent or guardian believes their child under 13 has submitted personal information, contact us at support@sakha.study. We will investigate and, where confirmed, delete the information without delay.

Student data protections. We do not sell student data, use student data for targeted advertising, or build student profiles for any purpose other than providing the AP exam preparation service.

10. California Minor Content Removal

California residents under 18 who posted content on the Service may request removal by contacting support@sakha.study. We process qualifying requests under California law. Removal may not be complete in all cases (for example, reposted content or legally required retention).

11. U.S. Privacy Rights (Including California)

Depending on your state, you may have rights to:

  • Know and access personal information we hold about you.
  • Request deletion, subject to legal exceptions.
  • Request correction of inaccurate information.
  • Obtain data portability where applicable.
  • Appeal denied requests where applicable.
  • Not be discriminated against for exercising privacy rights.

California residents may also use an authorized agent, subject to verification.

To exercise rights, email support@sakha.study with subject line “Privacy Request.” We may verify your identity before processing. We will respond within the timeframe required by applicable law.

12. Do Not Track

Our Service does not currently respond to browser "Do Not Track" signals in a standardized way.

13. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Policy. If changes are material, we will provide notice by email or prominent notice in the Service before changes take effect. Your continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the revised Policy.

The Service is intended for users in the United States. If you access Sakha from outside the United States, your information may be transferred to, stored, and processed in the United States.
